On November 12, 2008, the National Chamber Foundation held an event to educate interested businesses and organizations on how we can train and employ our veterans and their families as they transition back into the workforce and provide ongoing employment opportunities to our reservists and National Guard.   The event hosted members of the business and veteran’s affairs community who are actively engaged in this issue and highlight their efforts.

The men and women of our nation’s armed services need our support and the business community stands ready to help make the transition to civilian life easier for those who answered the call.  This important event hosted key leaders of the U.S. military and members of the veteran’s affairs community to discuss employment issues facing our returning veterans, reservists, National Guard and their families, and how the business community can assist in the transition of this highly-skilled workforce.

Discussion topics include:

  • Transition Challenges
  • Certification and Training Issues
  • Family Member Training and Employment
  • Guard and Reserve Issues
  • Employer Solutions and Success Stories

Keynote remarks will be delivered by:

stultz80Lieutenant General Jack C. Stultz, Chief of the Army Reserve, and Commanding General, United States Army Reserve Command expanded upon some of the unique challenges facing our returning reservists, and what role the business community can play in their return to the workforce.
